Professor James Stevens Curl is a Member of the Royal Irish Academy and has held Chairs in Architectural History at two universities. Among his many publications are The Victorian Celebration of Death; Georgian Architecture in the British Isles 1714-1830; Victorian Architecture: Diversity & Invention; Spas, Wells, & Pleasure-Gardens of London; Freemasonry & the Enlightenment: Architecture, Symbols, & Influences; A Dictionary of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and Funerary Monuments and Memorials in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh.

In 2000 the large monograph on Kensal Green Cemetery, which he edited and to which he contributed, was published to considerable acclaim. He has made the study of funerary monuments, cemeteries, and the celebration of death a major part of his life’s work. Tim Knox was appointed Director of the Royal Collection by Her Majesty the Queen in 2018. He was the Director and Marlay Curator of the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge 2013-2018, and Director of Sir John Soane’s Museum in London, 2005-13.

Before that, he worked for the National Trust, from 1995 as its Architectural Historian and from 2002-2005 as its Head Curator. He regularly lectures and writes on country houses, architecture, sculpture and the history of collecting. Publications include Sir John Soane’s Museum London (2010), The British Ambassador’s Residence Paris (2011), The Lost House Revisited (2017), with Ed Kluz and Olivia Horsfall-Turner, and The Rebirth of an English Country House: St Giles’s House (2018), with the Earl of Shaftesbury.

Alexander comes from a land management background and has a MA degree in the English Country House from Buckingham University. He currently works for Mole Valley District Council as the Parks and Landscapes Manager. Alex has been involved with the Trust since 2008 when he led the project to rescue the Hope Mausoleum on The Deepdene Estate in Dorking. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and lives and works in Surrey.

Kate studied history and law at Christ’s College, Cambridge and more recently took an MA in Gothic Architecture at the Courtauld. She is a trustee of the Victorian Society and has organised and convened conferences for the British Archaeological Society as well as being on the Round Tower Churches Society committee. Kate is a practising barrister but spends the summer acting as a London Blue Badge tour guide specialising in architecture, history and art tours. She has a particular interest in medieval ecclesiastical buildings and the Victorian Gothic revival.

Tom is an archivist and curator who has worked at several national museums. He is currently the archivist for Lloyd's of London, where he is responsible for the Corporation's historic artefacts. Tom became a Trustee of the MMT in 2016 and is currently developing a digital archive of the Trust's records. He lives in south London.

Tim Ellis is a sole-practitioner architect specialising in the conservation of historic buildings. After working for Donald Insall Associates in London and Canterbury, Tim joined Canterbury City Council as a Conservation Officer. Tim established his practice in 2004. He lives and works in Canterbury.

Mike is a history graduate with a masters degree in urban conservation from the University of Leicester, where he specialised in the development of 19th century provincial cities, primarily Birmingham. He has lived in West London, near Kensal Green Cemetery, since 2013. Previously Deputy Director of SAVE Britain's Heritage and Conservation Officer for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, Mike is currently Heritage and Design Advisor for High Speed 1, overseeing the protection of the Grade I listed St Pancras Station.

John Goodall is Architectural Editor of Country Life and the author of several books, most recently Parish Church Treasures (2015). He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London, sits on the Fabric Advisory Committees of Salisbury Cathedral, St Albans Abbey, Westminster Cathedral and the Fabric Commissions of Westminster Abbey and St George¹s Windsor.

Prior to retiring, Robert Heathcote was Finance Director of various organisations, initially in the commercial sector and then, in major charities including The Prince’s Trust, RNID (now known as Action on Hearing Loss) and Christ’s Hospital. He has been a trustee of MMT since 2007 and took over from Ian Johnson as Treasurer in 2013.

Ian Johnson is a retired businessman who lives in Dorset .He has a long-standing interest in Victorian and Georgian architecture. He first became involved with the MMT in 1990s.

Born in Chester, after graduating in 1973, he worked in France for a few years before returning to live and work in London, which he did until 1999.

He was treasurer of the MMT until 2013. From 2015-2019 he also served as treasurer of the Society of Architectural Historians of GB. He continues as a trustee of the Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery 

He oversaw the restoration of the Heathcote mausoleum at Hursley, Hampshire, in 2005 on behalf of the Trust and was instrumental in raising the funds for that project.

Charles Wagner is the son-in-law of Dr Jill Allibone, the founder of the MMT. He has over 33 years of experience in building conservation and heritage protection in the planning system, most of it working for English Heritage in a variety of roles. He studied civil engineering, then building conservation as a SPAB Scholar in the Repair of Old Buildings, followed by architectural history, then planning. He has listed half of Hampshire and looked after the historic areas of the eastern of England from the Humber to the Channel and all round London. He is Chair of his local 'friends of the cemetery' group and has his eyes on the restoration of the listed mausoleum in the cemetery.

Matthew retired in 2018 as Secretary, Ancient Monuments Society and Director, The Friends of Friendless Churches. The Friends now own some 60 redundant but significant churches and chapels in England and Wales. He was a Trustee of the Heritage Lottery Fund 2005-2011 and is currently a member of the Church Buildings Council, London DAC and the Historic England Advisory Committee. His Report on Listing, commissioned by HE was published on the HE website in 2021.  He lives in London.

Dr Elizabeth Blood is a heritage professional and a historian of monuments, commemoration and conservation. She holds a BSc Natural Sciences, MA in Museum Studies, and a PhD in the history of local First World War memorials. Her career is in museums, archaeology, historic buildings, and archives.

Fran’s research interests lie in Georgian architectural drawings. She has worked at Sir John Soane’s Museum, London since 2010, first as the Catalogue Editor and since 2016 as the Curator of Drawings and Books. During that time she has served as a Trustee of the York Georgian Society, the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain and the Mausolea and Monuments Trust (2014-19). In June 2021 she took over from the long-standing MMT Gazetteer Editor, John Beattie.
