In the wonderful surroundings of The Lady Chapel, Westminster Abbey, the MMT Annual Lecture was given by Tim Knox, the Director of The Royal Collection and Patron of the Mausolea and Monuments Trust.
His talk explored the extraordinary legacy of English Royal tombs and memorials, from the earliest times to the present day.
From the mysterious ship burials of Sutton Hoo, through the religious foundations of the medieval kings, to the great Royal ‘dormitories’ of Westminster Abbey and St George’s Chapel at Windsor.

The MMT Annual Lecture is to be held on Thursday 22nd September at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, West Smithfield, London EC1A 7BE (Barts’ Hall). Entitled "The Mausoleum Revisited", the lecture will be given by Charles Saumarez-Smith. More details and bookings information to follow.
